When you think of a Rocky Mountain wedding, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s a rustic lodge nestled in the woods, or a stunning ceremony overlooking the iconic mountains of RMNP. Or maybe it’s both!
My little brother and his sweet fiancĂ©e recently tied the knot. Instantly making Malia my new – though not so ‘lil – little sister. From the details they included to the incredible views of their ceremony this was such a magical day! Not to mention the extra special sprinkle of snow!
For a ceremony with steely grandeur and the perfect backdrop, there is nothing quite like getting married at Wild Basin Lodge. Tucked away right outside Rocky Mountain National Park, it offers stunning views and a space that feels like your own.
Tim and Malia got ready in the warm lodge as the outside temps were cold. But as the harsh freezing rain from the day before made way for beautiful skies, it was nearly wedding time!
To make their wedding truly their own, they surrounded themselves with fun details. Walking into their ceremony to the tune of Star Wars, there were also little Lego Star Wars details around their reception. And for guest favors, personally designed stickers with their ceremony backdrop were made by these two art students turned husband and wife.
And not to forget their fur baby Cole, he even had a role in their ceremony! Despite trying to add in his own special, very vocal, vows — which contributed to a lot of laughs and great memories.
And special for me, was being able to recreate an old homecoming photo between Tim and his best man Justin. Especially since Justin and Tim got to know each other since Justin’s sister and I were best friends in elementary school.
Seeing my little brother get married made my heart so full. I always wanted a little sister, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect sister than Malia! And seeing the look on my brother’s face as she walked down the aisle was a true display of love.
Most of all, this wedding was one of my favorites because of how special it was for me to gain a new sister! And to see my kid brother fall in love!
