A lovely engagement session with friends is such a sweet memory! Especially when I’ve gotten to see them through the beginnings of friendship to relationship to engagement (and on to their wedding day)!
I met Stacey in our Sophomore year of college in our Speech class. That semester we bonded over enduring the class and her instrumental role in getting me to Spain that summer. But that’s a story for another time.
And here’s how we get to how Stacey met Will.
Right before I left for Spain that summer, Stacey told me she met a boy at church. She found him cute and absolutely interesting.
Six weeks later, I returned home to a handful of notes detailing the beginning stages of their relationship.
Details and doodles about uncertainties of feelings. The butterflies of budding romance.
First dates written on scraps of paper she’d found during the long hours of summer courses. All wrapped up in a little package with a typewritten title “30 Days of Willard.”
[These adorable notes would later become part of their wedding present.]
Stacey’s parents took a family trip to Disney World, where Willard secretly joined them (unbeknownst to Stacey). A surprise proposal in front of Cinderella’s castle in Magic Kingdom started the next chapter of their lives together!
I loved getting to capture their engagement session in Jenkins Arboretum and seeing how much their love has bloomed!
Two years after “30 Days of Willard,” I had the joy to take their love story and put it, giggles and all, on film.
This is why I do what I do.
I love taking photos, but more than that, I love seeing relationships bloom in pictures in a way that couples can look back on for years to come.
These two showered their session in who they are. Beautiful, unique and fun-loving: covered in laughter and love.
